Feathering My Nest at VWF June 2014…

Did you make it out to Priddis this past June 20 and 21?… it was a BLAST loves!…

Feathering My Nest went with a 17′ u-haul truck and left with the hubby’s pickup truck!… Note to self: Make more for next year!…

THANK YOU!… to all of those who came out to support me and all of the other vendors at the event this year!… I love helping you to Feather YOUR nests!… and I love meeting you!…  Okay onto the photos from the event!

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201401

Here she is all setup!… I spent the past few months creating and curating for the space… I was going for a white, gold and natural feel…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201402

…peek-a-boo irish moss!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201403

Old windows refreshed and turned into a new coffee table… two windows to see the things that you display inside and one chalkboard section to draw on whatever your heart wishes!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201404

Here a gold leafed starfish sits atop an end table that was made from an old radiator!… The radiator table went to feather a nest pretty quickly!… I’m going to have to find some more of these old beauties so that I can make on for our nest!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201405

I had some sweet squat jars… and of course I had FAT Paint so I had to try out the painted jar planter… yep!… love it!

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201406

Flowers were a first for me this year… I love the look they add to the booth… and the smell!… oh the lovely fragrance!  I plan to carry a small selection of seasonal blooms at every event going forward!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201407

It’s never hard to tell who has lived by the ocean at these events… they’re likely the person scooping up the driftwood and shells!… Luckily I have a few of these little scallop shells left… I plan to make a nautical garland for Christmas!… eek!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201408

Gold chalkboard frames… I’ve got em!… with sayings chalked out they just fly out of the booth!… you can use them as they are or erase them and rewrite your own sayings on there!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201409

I am really digging gold at the moment!… as you can tell… even as I sit here typing I’m surrounded by little gold details on my big white desk…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201410

Potted lavender were not as popular this year as they were last…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201411

Here is a better shot of the radiator side table!… *swoon*  as masculine as this table was it played so well in the space of ultra feminine fluff!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201412

My favourite piece was this big beauty of a dresser… she was quite the sow’s ear when I found her…  she took a lot of sanding and elbow grease!… then new drawer bottoms and some FAT Paint and stain and she was ready to go!… and she went!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201413

Yarn pompom garlands!… I have to make some for our nest… they’re so sweet and easy… just the right amount of fuzz required for one’s nest!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201414

Yeah… that’s right!… a gold skull… I’m taking orders on these babies… if you’re looking for one let me know!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201415

THESE PEONIES!… I could only get these five stems… they were unreal!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201416

Chalkboard globes were new for me this year… they were popular!… and didn’t require much touching up through out the day and a half event… they did get a little polka dotty with fingerprints but visitors didn’t rub off the words thankfully!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201417

Burlap ottoman anyone?… These were fun to make… and I’ve got more in my workspace right now just waiting to be reupholstered!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201418

THIS TABLE!… squee!… I had a piece of glass cut to sit in the inset top over the chalked design!… it fit perfectly and protects the chalk design that can be erased and something new put there!… a little chalkboard action never hurt anyone!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201419

Peonies… just because peonies!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201420

Lamps went quickly this year!… they added sweet lighting to the booth and I really missed them once they sold!… more lamps at the next sale event!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201421

Here is another view of the booth… down low… I like to have things tucked away… little discoveries for visitors…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201422

…and here is the other side…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201423

…my nest is feeling a little empty now as all of these things had been building up over the weeks leading up to the market… and now… they’re all out feathering your nests!… I would love to see a shot of your FMN treasure in your nest!… so please feel free to share on FB, IG or Twitter!… just tag Feathering My Nest!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201424

A little more gold shell action… these?… oyster shells!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201425

Gold and teak… really… right now you just can’t go wrong with gold…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201426

This globe was purchased as a wedding present!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201427

Gold leaf capped moose teeth… I loved these… I just wasn’t sure if anyone else would… well they did!…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201428

Picket fence planter boxes… and a rolling spool end table…

Then I was left with this…

Feathering My Nest Booth June 201429

And no joke… after this picture was taken the following sold:

  • Burlap ottoman
  • Ball vase of peonies
  • Gold framed chalkboard
  • Paper pomanders
  • 2 Silver chalkboard trays

And now I sit at that large white desk up as I peck out this bloggity posting … I’m sort of relieved that it didn’t sell… though its a little big for our nest it somehow just seems to work…

Well that is she… my booth space from the Vintage with Flair June 2014 event!… what do you think!?…

I am so happy Amanda Forrest introduced your skull on the Marilyn Denis show. I have enjoyed looking at everything you assemble. I gave my granddaughter your website and she did put her name on the list for a skull to give to her dad. I hope she goes to see your booth at the farmer’s market. I live in Ontario so it will be awhile before I get to see your work first hand. Thank you for all the inspiration!

Oh thank you Karin! 🙂 Very kind of you to say! The next market event that I’m in will probably be a small pop up shop at my home in December! I’ll make the announcement on my social media accounts! I should have a few skulls there available… and will be taking orders for them in the coming weeks! Hope you’re having a warm fall out there in Ontario! It’s very chilly here in Calgary right now!
