Trimmed Tree…

November 16, 2015

It’s the time of year when those cute mini cypress tress become available!… I’ve taken one and have given it a trimming and a bowtie for a little different look from the traditional tree shape…

I found the most gorgeous lime green little trees at Plant in Inglewood… really if you drop these little beauties in a pot that matches your home decor… add a bow and some moss ontop of the soil you’ll have a pretty great little house tree as is…

I wanted a little something different looking so I began trimming away the bottom branches… I was nervous about my planned excessive pruning so I asked the people of Plant and was assured the little tree would be fine!

I grabbed my snip snips and starting at the bottom began pruning away up the trunk of the little tree… I snipped the branches away right back at their connection point to the trunk…

My scissors were nice and sharp so so that I didn’t tear the branches and damage the trunk…

I continued up the tree until I liked the amount of branch left and the amount of tree trunk that was showing… can you call it a tree trunk when its this tiny? 🙂

Now… so newly naked the little tree needed a new pot and a little bowite…

And here is my little whipper snipper all dressed up with a bow and moss!… ready for the holiday season!.. what do you think!?… If you make one too please come over to the Feathering My Nest Facebook page and share some photos of your little trees!  I can’t wait to see how you trim your tree!
